Hey everyone,

So, after popular demand I just created 3 more indexes, by decade, by genre and by country of origin. Note that many movies are tagged in not just one genre but several so you’ll find them in more than 1 category, as well as films that are co-productions, you’ll find them in more than 1 country.

Hope you guys find it useful.

Thank you for this wonderful collection of films!

I’ve been looking up Japanese films available on youtube from the golden age of the 30s through 50s–Mizoguchi, Gosho Heinosuke, Shimizu, Shimazu, and so forth. Would you be interested in having the addresses to these films, in case you wanted to expand your library? I’ve also looked up early French films (Epstein, etc.), Bunuel films, and so forth.

Second, would it make sense in the long run to have a catalogue by director?

I remember there used to be a couple of albanian movies. Unfortunately they are no longer available. I am particullary interested in one. It plays during the second world war and follows a group of kids and partisans. Is there a reason why you deleted it? Could you please tell me the name of it?

    Thank you!

Not having a clue how to use Chatango am using this forum to reply to a query by kurt in the Chat Room Thurs November 24th 2022.
Sounds as if what he’s looking for is Outcast of the Islands (Carol Reed 1951) with Trevor Howard. The only other suggestion I would have, considering he mentions Peter O’Toole and James Mason, is Lord Jim 1965, set in Malaya. But that’s in colour and I don’t know how it ends.
If anybody reading this could pass the information on to kurt in Chat room. Thank you. Apologies for using this forum for incorrect purpose.

      Hi Manel,
Yeah I see now that ‘Palestina’ is showing no results, I don’t remember which film I had available that I had to take down, looks like I forgot to remove the country from this page, I don’t list a country if there’s no films from that specific country on the site, if you have any suggestions for Palestinian films you’d like to see here just let me know and I’ll see if I can add them, if I have them I will, the more diverse I can make the catalog the better it will be imo, I’m always open to add films from countries that haven’t been added on the site yet feel free to contribute with suggestions 🙂 Thank you!

I know one’s not supposed to post requests here but someone asked about Palestinian films here. I would like to see them too.

    Here are some suggestions:

    Palestine by NIck Macdonald (1972)

    Haifa (1996)

And three films by Michel Khlefi, probably the most known of palestinian filmmakers

    Fertile memory (1980)
    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0121278/?ref_=nm_flmg_t_10_dr
Available at archive.org but without subtitles

    Wedding in Galilee (1987)
