Fearing that his recently-acquired step-mother, Ann Dennis, is competing with him for his father’s affections, and saddened by the death of his dog, young Danny Mitchell, in the first film of the long-running “Rusty” series, seeks consolation in the companionship of a ferocious, Nazi-trained police dog, Rusty, brought to the U.S. by a returning WWII-veteran. The step-mother, with tender understanding, eventually wins Danny over while Danny pacifies his new dog.

A soldier stationed on an army base and his fiancé, who runs a women’s “fat farm” nearby, want to get married but don’t have enough money. Three customers of the “fat farm” scheme to get back at their philandering husbands by hiring the soldier and two of his buddies as “escorts” for the weekend. Complications ensue when the husbands show up unexpectedly.

The last payment on Joe’s machinery is due just as he discover’s what his buddy has been doing.

William Holden and Bonita Granville, heavily if not convincingly decked out in “old age” makeup, recall on their 35th wedding anniversary how they first met in 1904. Holden was a brash college freshman, while Bonita was the daughter of a local judge. Since Holden couldn’t stay out of trouble, the judge prohibited him from visiting his daughter, but the boy opposed the edict and ended up being arrested–with Bonita managing to have herself thrown in jail as well.
