The setting is a ”new” Tokyo suburb. The school is clean, well run, and the movie takes place in the five-day period before, during and after a ferocious, seemingly liberating typhoon, which five of the students endure while marooned in the school’s gymnasium.

As a cruel joke, billionaire William Randolph Hughes planted a series of boxes around the Southwest, in the hopes that someone would find them. The first box told the discoverer that an enormous fortune was buried in a box somewhere, along with directions to the hiding place. When the box is uncovered, however, all it contains is instructions on how to find the next box, and so on. As luck would have it, the first box is discovered by several people at once, leading to a frantic chase from one hiding spot to the next in the hopes that one of them will finally hold the loot.

A man (the artist himself), looking visibly fatigued, appears on the screen, sitting in his own chair. Here, the artist compels viewers into an intimate relationship: they sit at eye level with him, listening to the sound of his breathing through the headphones.
