Reluctantly, a sulky adolescent returns to her parents’ house for yet another boring summer vacation, dabbling in desire and the art of desirability, eventually mixing reality with vision, caged fantasies with the fierce female sexuality.

I wish Breillat would make a film about Georges Bataille. She touches on many of his major themes. No one makes a statement about sex and death like this woman.
I wish I’d seen this as a young woman.
WOW this was nice! The girl had a bad attitude about general things like helping her parents, and her general attitude, BUT we were treated to some wonderful camerashots of her, and also of some of the male actors too. This definitely earns a 5 star rating.
Holy Moses! … Well now I know why Moms For Liberty isn’t too overly fond of this one! … That’s for sure! … (Of course no doubt Bridget Ziegler nabbed the DVD out of the school library & was like: “Ahem, I think I’ll confiscate this one personally, ahem!” … Yeah we’re on to you Bridget! ….
Anyways, the debate will never end as to whether Breillat is truly a poetic auteur, or sort of one step up from a John Derek or a Tinto Brass … Ah dunno … No doubt she’d agree with my favorite “villain quote” : what Epstein said to the reporter: “Yes, I guess you could say that *quatorze* is my favorite number!” … Nice one, Jeffrey!
Very good film. Seems to be of superior quality to my old dvd. Colour restored and re-graded?
Breillat always has a special place in my heart.
Only her last one was not very good, but it was just a French adaptation of a Danish film, which also is not very good
Yes Tveitt, it’s a new restoration done recently, I think a Bluray release is coming soon maybe first first months of 2025.
Thanks so much for uploading this film. I’ve downloaded it from from SOURCE FILES: via FILES, However, I can’t figure out how to get the subtitles. Argh! Please help, thanks.
