Mossane is a film about a beautiful 14-year-old girl from a rural Serer village, beloved by many including her own brother, and Fara, a poor university student. Although she has long been promised in marriage to the wealthy Diogaye, Mossane defies her parents’ wishes and pursues a relationship with Fara. The film shows the strength of a younger generation as they resist archaic traditions, and revels in their courage and their wish for emancipation.

Note: The only copy I could find of this film out there already had burned-in French subtitles so for the hardsubbed version I tried my best to cover them with the English subs, this required a lot of re-formatting so that the English subs would have the same format of the burned ones in French (meaning if the French sub was one line English ones would be one line also) it is not possible to make it cover every single line perfectly as what you say in one language it is not possible to say it using the same amount of words in another, at least not all the time, but I think it looks pretty good and should do until a clean HD copy surfaces. Enjoy!
