The story of a group of high school boxing team members who spend their days drinking, sailing and chasing girls, and who more often than not spend their nights getting into brawls. In particular, it focuses upon Tatsuya, a sullen young man, who falls in love with Eiko, a proud upper-class girl.

    Thanks much. This is an important film in post-war Japanese cinema. It was the first
    “sun-tribe” film and brought to attention the Ishihara brothers; Yûjirô and Shintarô. I have had a region 2 copy of this from when I lived in Japan. My Japanese is only so-so, so this is great to have subtitles.

    Love Japanese cinema from this time-period. Sadly, so much is still unavailable even in Japan. I just think of many of the films by Oscar winning director Ichikawa Kon from that time period, that are not available. I hope you will be able to upload more Japanese films.
