Interesting melodrama starring the grand old character actor, C. Aubrey Smith and legendary director/actor Eric Von Stroheim (Greed, Sunset Boulevard). Moody production values, above average direction, excellent music score, and textbook-perfect acting techniques are on full display here. Not a missed step in the scenario that weaves the story to a suspenseful climax.
