One would like to know which parts of the film belong to each co-director. Yet film is a collective art and this “coming of age” story is excellent in all its features especially the superb acting by Sugawara and Wakayama. This site deserves acclaim for its choice of Fukasaku films revealing that the director is not solely to be defined by BATTLE ROYALE and BATTLES WITHOUT HONOR AND HUMANITY good as these films are.
