A journalist receives an obscene phonecall that she mistakes for her boyfriend. She then agrees to meet with the caller at a bar, but instead of meeting the boyfriend, she witnesses a murder.

Two married men who neglect their wives become concerned when they begin spending time with Leonard Drummond, a handsome and charming novelist with a notorious reputation as a womaniser. They hatch a plan to see if their wives are conducting affairs which involves pretending to go to Paris then returning unexpectedly. However complications ensue when their car breaks down on the way back from Newhaven. The long night that follows really becomes a test of the fidelity and love of their wives.
A band of outlaws, led by “Papa” Clellan, hold up in a ghost town as they plan an attack on a wagon train loaded with gold. The unexpected arrival of a stagecoach forces the gang to hold the passengers and driver as hostages. Trouble starts brewing when Danny, who is “assisting” the town’s new doctor, Antonia Cordell, slips his father’s campaign handbills into the envelopes containing the doctor’s announcement cards. Mayor Fulderwilder accuses Mitchell of complicity in the affair.
This comedy-drama by George Marshall revolves around the amorous entanglements of four G.I. photographers on leave in Japan from their last mission in the Korean War. The men, headed by officer Andy Cyphers check into a house with four resident geishas and immediately misunderstand what a geisha does for a living. Once they get straightened out about the musical, cultural, and educational background of geishas — and after spending some time with the four women, the men begin to pair off.
