Great direction under Marc Allegret, brother of French Director Yves Allegret, Delon was never trained to act and was unsure the film industry was his destiny. But he gives credit to Yves for instructing him early: “Do not act–just be yourself” for the camera. From there, Alain said his life changed,. He became famous for getting thoroughly under the skin of his characters. He gained world status and was the highest-paid French actor for decades. Fun fact: Marc Allegret discovered Brigitte Bardot.
