It’s probably the longest version that exists today, not sure if the IMDb runtime information is correct but this one is longer than the only other copy that was circulating online.

What a great film to get audiences minds off living in Communist Bulgaria! Note the references to Nazi film divas Marika Roekk and Lida Baarova. Where is this supposed to be?

I guess this is Nazi-occupied Bulgaria. But why do the Men and Boys have long hair?

This completely blew my mind. Thank you. How is it possible that I have never heard of Zhelyazkova before? Am downloading the other movie right now.

I grabbed The Swimming Pool from Uloz, but despite being an MKV file there were no subtitles. It looks great anyway. There’s a copy of We Were Young on there also.

Zhelyazkova is amazing but yeah her work is pretty much unknown everywhere except Bulgaria 🙁

This looks like a true story about the partisan anti-nazi struggle. With views of commemorations during the Seventies. This film goes in my very top finds this year, thanks to you. A cruel, a stunning and sad beauty. Courage sounds the same in Bulgarian and French.
I’ll be exploring more from Binka. Thank you so much.
