Thanks for letting me know about that, Barton. Looks like the final scene is missing, I found it on Youtube so I’m going to merge it and find someone to translate that last bit of dialogue, updated version should be up in a couple of days.

More low-key than I was led to expect, with such a title, but very intense and subtle. The filmmaker(s) seemed to share the same aristocratic distance and watchfulness as the characters, especially in the sweeping camera shots across gambling halls and ballrooms. The characters weren’t luxed-up to appeal to ordinary movie-goers (like me) – they seemed very natural, despite the posh environment. Conrad Veidt can say so much, just with his glowing eyes.
