My ★★★★ review of Fun on Letterboxd https://boxd.it/1EQkFl
This film came out the same year as Peter Jackson’s “Heavenly Creatures”, another film about teenage girls turned into killers but while that film was a far more stylized, special-effects-filled blending between fantasy and reality from the main characters perspective, “Fun” is more like a docudrama with plenty of very typical 90s post-modernist elements like references to pop culture (the girls talk about the film “Frankenstein” before they commit the crime, ) and the way one of the flashbacks is shot almost like a music video
Even though some of the dialogue, in particular the scenes between the journalist and the psychiatrist, seems a bit too on the nose at times, the chilling performances by Alicia Witt and Rennee’ Humphrey makes this disturbing film worth watching
Hi can I buy this dvd if possible I’ve been wanting it for years and I can’t seem to get it anywhere thanks
