Beautiful movie about women finding their independence, though I just wish the ending could have coincided with a hallmark movie. If you know what I mean?
Fifteen minutes in, I couldn’t continue on. I felt like it was just showing snippets of the book in a very boring way. Plus, the scene where Madame Ratagniolle chastises Robert about flirting with Edna doesn’t make sense unless you know the context of their friendship, which was not illustrated by the movie. I skipped to the end and her suicide isn’t clear at all, and it seemed like a long montage of her boobs floating around the ocean like jellyfish. I just feel like this movie wasn’t doing much for me and didn’t even get the basics down either.
