On a secluded farmhouse in Castile and León, Luis is reuinted with his estranged daughter, Elisa after a 20-year separation. On the farmhouse, Luis writes what appears at times to be both an autobiography and a novel. The book is played out, with memories of the past, such as when Luis walked out on his family and is mixed with fantasies about Elisa’s adult life as well as her failed marriage.

I am a great Carlos Saura fan and this one is one of his personal and best film. more Carlos Saura’s film will be great
Saw the film when it came out, even twice, as I did at that time with films I liked/are important. Since then, I want/ed to watch it again, and didn’t have a possibility,; so, yes, this is a wonderdul and moving piece of life, a magnificent father-daughter relation. And both actors! great!
If I remember rightly this film was the first time I heard Eric Satie’s haunting Gnosciennes. Sometime back in the 70’s. I thought the acting was excellent and the film a 5 star effort of Carlos Saura. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
