Thanks for finding this! … It was pretty shocking to stumble on it just as I’m half-way through the novel (the NYRB edition with a great intro by Greil Marcus which tackles head-on the controversies surrounding Handke’s recent Nobel win) … Fascinating, off-beat, impressionistic film — but I noticed that it was a very loose “adaptation”, to say the least … And then saw the end credit “Based on motifs from the novel of the same name by Peter Handke” … Oh, ok, that explains a lot!
