Note: Alright guys, here’s the much-awaited upgrade of this film by Jiang Wen, this rip comes from the digital restoration done in 2013 from a 35mm print located at L’lmmagine Ritrovata in Bologna, Italy, it’s presented in HD in it’s original 1.85:1 AR and it runs 140 minutes, this is believed to be the most complete version up to date. Unfortunately the copy suffers of some ghosting effects which you can mostly notice when there’s camera movements, the original file already had this problem, probably someone screwed it up during the digitization process or something, nonetheless it still looks pretty good. Enjoy y’all!!
You are doing the lord’s work, Jon
Holy shit, I’m so happy right now. This is beautiful. Saw this movie years ago from a VCD source and it became one of my all time favorite. I waited so much for the day I’d see it in a better resolution. Thank you so much.
What a gift, thanks for posting!
I absolutely love this film – thank you so so so much 🙂
Thank you so much Jon!!!
Rip is beautiful but these subtitles are not a particularly artful translation. Are these the official subs? If so, it’s very disappointing.
They’re not official subs they are fan-made and yeah they could use an improvement for sure.
