An affecting film about a woman reclaiming her lost life and moral worth.through the suffering of her first love . There is nothing surprising in this film -it comes from a Fanny Hurst short story after all – but there are some quite moving scenes in the film that Seena Owen (an actress I had not seen before) carries with grace and pathos..
Just a post script -after the conclusion of the film there is a list of contributors who helped restore and make the film fit for viewing. The list easily hits sixty perhaps more people. Thank heavens for these cinemaphiles who maintain our connection to film history. And thank you Jon for making this film available.
Just loved it. I cried at the end. The mark of a good picture.
Thank you so much for a great story.
