A dangerous prisoner, Jacko Thomas, overpowers his police guard and jumps from a speeding train in the Dartmoor countryside. In the ensuing fight Jacko kills the guard and makes his way to a secluded hotel on the moors where Tredgar is being paid to arrange a safe transit for Jacko and his sister Jean. But Jean as no idea of Jacko’s murderous character, and when an ex-policeman and a famous novelist book into the isolated hotel, the scene is set for a series of murders and a shocking climax.

The ever-popular Maria Felix stars as a white woman who enters into a romance with a Mexican Indian, played by singing star Pedro Infante (who died shortly after the film’s completion). The racial barriers between the lovers prove to be insurmountable, resulting in tragedy. Director Ismael Rodriguez spends a great deal of time establishing the folklore and traditions of Infante’s people, much to the fascination of his audience.
The film is set in southern Georgia, which until the end of XIX century was dominated by the Ottoman Empire. Tragic times gave rise to people of high spiritual strength, such as Antimoz Iverieli – the philosopher-educator. Having experienced as a child cruelty and injustice, it becomes the path of public service. Having been removed by the Turks in Romania, a hero by all means wants to return home. Sentenced to death, Antimoz remains in the memory of his countrymen a champion of justice.
After her father, Dracula, is killed, vampire Nadja launches a feud against her father’s murderer, Dr. Van Helsing. Nadja begins her revenge by attempting to seduce Van Helsing’s daughter, Lucy. But Van Helsing has also recruited Lucy’s twin brother, his son and his other children to bring down the vampires. As the family conspires against Nadja, she proves that she won’t be so easily defeated.
Duke Turnbeau has come to England, in the 1930s, as a way to improve his fortunes. For some reason, he believes that his larcenous ways will bring him prosperity in the country which at one time or another has had rulership over a large portion of the globe. While there, he meets Rosie McCratchit, a lovely Irish gal who could do with some improvement in her fortunes as well. Together, they have a series of legal, quasi-legal and definitely illegal adventures, including Duke’s cow-roping and Rosie’s response to the mud-wrestling challenge of the Amazon Lady, as well as an attempted armored-car robbery.
Young high school couple Darcy Elliot and Stan Bobrucz are one year from graduation, with promising futures ahead of them. But their paths take a drastic turn when Darcy becomes pregnant. Unwilling to go through an abortion or an adoption — despite their parents‘ pleas — Darcy and Stan decide to sacrifice their college experiences and degrees in order to keep and raise the baby. The story focuses on a teenager in hopeless search of identity within a highly dysfunctional family and a fractured world that both threaten to devour the boy—demanding everything and not really caring at all. A masterpiece of subversive cinema.
