Big Joe is a lineman for the telephone company. Angel is a teenage migrant worker. They form an unlikely alliance and start a rose-growing business. At first wary of each other, they grow to trust and like one another. Eventually, Angel must leave the area when his father relocates the family in search of migrant work.

Here’s another composite rip by yours truly. 16mm scan taken from here with audio taken from here, the internet archive SD rip sounded better but looked worse so it was worth combining both sources. The colors on this 16mm scan aren’t perfect as it leans a bit too much towards pink and green probably due to fading but it’s still higher quality and reveals a lot more image on all four sides. Enjoy this wonderful Oscar winner short film!
