Hot Breath Harry is a hot trumpeter at a jazz club. He finds himself drafted into the Army, where he’s assigned to be the bugler of an African-American company. But everyone hates the bugler, because he blows reveille at the ungodly hour of 5 AM sharp. Sure enough, on his first day, Harry gets pelted with everything imaginable. He lands against a wall, where his trumpet falls on him. He plays a swinging wakeup that segues into the title tune, and nobody minds waking up to this. Everyone swings through the whole day, even when three soldiers march into a lake and two soldiers, followed by a grinning alligator, march out.

WOW, racist as fuck. Things like this should be in a separate category with a warning label. The thumbnail alone is horrible- there is no justification for this.

For years I have used this site frequently and I won’t be moving forward. I am a person of color and I have shared this site with tons of immigrants, other people of color, and students I mentor– but now I am ashamed. Please consider making a space on this site for unethical films like this.

Yes, please either remove this film or put a strong warning on it and change the thumbnail image. Jeez, you guys! No censorship, of course, but label it and explain it. This crap SHOULD be available to teach people, NOT to entertain.
