During the first 20 minutes with all those weird camera angles I wondered whether this was some sort of a spoof on all that weirdness associated with so-called arthouse cinema (a term that I reject). After the 1 hour mark I just threw my hands up in the air.
I’m very open minded when it comes to films and usually I am a complete sucker for beautiful cinematography but the films of Raul Ruiz just isn’t my taste.
The fact that he got his filmmaking career started by the Rockefeller foundation gives me an idea where he came from
