Not the greatest Glenda Jackson role by a longshot (she’s woefully miscast IMAO) however ANY Glenda is better than NO Glenda.. For a far better impersonation and biopic of the legendary stage actress try SARAH (1971) with the incredible Zoe Caldwell in the title role.

Where is the Zoe Caldwell SARAH available? I saw it on PBS in the ’70s and have wanted to watch it again.

Hey Ronnie! I just saw your comment. I have NO IDEA where it can be found other than two tiny bits and pieces available on YouTube, off and on. I have tried and tried and tried to find it and to NO AVAIL. It’s got to be SOMEWHERE. I even asked the YouTube poster / sister of one of the actors cast in it and she didn’t seem to want to answer me. Strangely, her copy was in full color when I definitively remember seeing it broadcast in high contrast B&W on that PBS Biography Series. And my TV was color. So, what gives??? It was rtepeated twice on PBS and I watched it both times. And Ihave never once seen it again. But, boy do I remember it. Caldwell was FIRST RATE!
