This appears to be MALIBU. Any way you look at it, this a groundbreaking movie for television…the physical abuse of women was now believably depicted by BORIS SEGAL (A CASE OR RAPE, JOHN MOXEY (INTIMATE STRANGERS), and here, by director RICHARD HEFFRON.

Very powerful film. In real life, Dick Van Dyke was also an alcoholic (recovering).

Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!!
After a rather intensive search over the YEARS for the movie “The Morning After” (starring Dyke Van Dyke as an alcoholic) I FINALLY FOUND IT HERE…for FREE! I’m on welfare so can’t pay the fees other places were charging to own the movie. I am extremely excited to see this film (if you couldn’t tell ha! ha!) I’ve always heard
Dick Van Dyke is AMAZING in the role he played.
Well, I know what I’ll be doing for an hour and a half THIS afternoon!
    REALLY appreciate you…

Why does your platform have so few old movies, I have searched many titles and only found one that I was looking for. Are you planning to expand the library at some point in the future.

What do you mean, Ron? I just looked at the index and there’s at least 500 films from the ’70s like this one, not all are American TV movies of course, what years are you referring to with ‘old’? If you have a list with the movies you’re looking you can write me to rarefilmm@gmail.com and I’ll see if I can find them. Thanks! 🙂

In real life, Dick Van Dyke is a recovering alcoholic. He played this role to perfection. Hugely underappreciated and underrated film.

A movie made by adults for adults. Besides the excellence of Van Dyke this movie is great in many ways. Richard Matheson was a heck of a writer and this screenplay is so sharp it leaves scars. And Lynn Carlin was one of the most underrated actresses of her generation; along with this film, Faces, Taking Off, Deathdream she belongs in the pantheon of ‘70s actresses. And Richard Heffron’s direction throughout is text book, not only his work with the actors, but his shot selection and editing, and building from well lit hallways to the poignant and heartbreaking final shot. One of the best films of 1974, TV or theatrical.

I was excited for a moment. Seems the download is no longer available. Wonder why this film is not readily abvailable on TCM, etc.
