Note: Many thanks to “Fernando Hierro” over at okru for sending me this good copy (no hardcoded subs) of this hard to find film.
Yoshiko/Shirley Yamaguchi made a career in Wartime Japanese films playing a Chinese Girl in films made to encourage Chinese to submit to the Japanese occupiers, because she’d grown up in China and spoke Chinese.
I caught the last 20 mins of this movie in the 1980s when I was channel surfing and have tried to find it again as I wanted to see the whole thing. Since then I lived in Japan over 8 years, so it is even more significant to me now. I’m so thrilled that the creators of this website have made this film available.
