When recently retired train operator Wladyslaw Orzechowski is struck and killed by a train, railroad investigators interview those who worked with him to determine whether the death was accidental — or perhaps murder. The investigators learn immediately that Orzechowski was disliked by both his younger coworkers, whom he bullied, and the management, whom he despised. But as the investigation continues, other surprising and unexpected sides of Orzechowski come to light.

Good film, great restored print.
This is a great film with masterful direction. A kind of 50’s Polish Rashoman that transcends its time and political allusions – and a great train film!
