Hi Jon,
According to the book “Movies Made for Televison” by Alvin H. Marrill, many TV features, especially those filmed in the 1970s, were made to fit into a 90 minute slot, but the actual running time is closer to 70-72 minutes. So I suspect that this is the complete version. Likewise, TV movies of that era with a running time of 120 minutes are usually only app. 100 minutes in actual length.
Makes sense, thanks for the info, Bernard!
As an avid 70s TV movie watch yes I definitely agree as most of these 70s TV movies were for the 90 minute slot, 70-75 actual run time plus commercials.
Many thanks,
Nick
I think it was ABC who made, Melvin Purvis G- Man. It’s plot was about George ” Machine Gun ” Kelly and his Gang kidnapping Dick Sergeants character. Wasn’t Steve McNally ( Pretty Boy Floyd )Purvis’ Assistant ?? As a kid I always enjoyed watching Gangster Movies in the 70’s. Usually Friday or Saturday nights on Channel 53 out of Pittsburgh, PA.
