One of Fred and Rita’s best, shame they didn’t make more movies together.

    Isn’t this on DVD though?

It was released on DVD in 2004, seems to be out-of-print now.

Excepting Ginger and, as far as we know, Fred’s own sister Adele, Rita Hayworth was Fred’s finest partner. First of all, Rita was as tall as Fred was, so, like Ginger, he could spin her like a top. Second, Rita was athletic, nimble-of-foot and she had a remarkable sense of rhythm when she danced; made her a good partner for Gene Kelly, too. Third, she was clever, witty, yet emotionally honest and even sweet; in the words of the song, she was “easy to love.” Fourth, she was a superb musician, and she had a lovely voice. Last, but not least, she was breathtakingly beautiful. Like Joan Crawford before her, Rita Hayworth had the requisite acting skills to graduate from musicals to noir like Gilda.

Rita was even more naturally graceful with every step than Ginger so she was Fred’s most suitable partner so she made him look more masculine and less feminine especially with arm and hand movements and poses where Ginger looked stiffer by comparison with her arms & poses, alike I clouding her deeper singing voice.
