She is in fact the robotic creation of Professor Belman, but it turns out rather to be the Professor’s niece Penelope doing a pretty good imitation of the perfect Olga who winds up with them in the bridal suite at the Hotel Splendide.
After her family’s mansion is burned down by Yankee soldiers for hiding the rebel leader Captain Sam Starr, Belle Shirley vows to take revenge. Breaking Starr out of prison, she joins his small guerrilla group for a series of raids on banks and railroads, carpetbaggers and enemy troops. Belle’s bravado during the attacks earns her a reputation among the locals as well as the love of Starr himself. The pair get married, but their relationship starts to break down when Sam Starr lets a couple of psychotic rebels into the gang, leaving Belle to wonder if he really cares about the Southern cause.
Wisecracking female private eye Belinda Prentice has to put in a lot of overtime when her first client is murdered. Following the clues to an apartment house chock-full of suspicious characters, Belinda predicts-correctly, as it turns out–that there’ll be several more killings unless she can pinpoint the guilty party and ascertain his or her motives. Meanwhile, her police-inspector father wishes aloud that Belinda would give up the p.i. business and settle down with a nice young fellow.

Laura and Katy White are the teenage daughters of a humble bank security guard. As a single father, Mr. White struggles to keep the girls on the straight and narrow. While Katy is engaged to the town football hero, Laura has started dating the secretive Al Simpson. Despite the fact that the young man has no visible means of support, he treats the wholesome girl to expensive lingerie and all-nighters at the jive bar. Suspecting that Simpson is a criminal, Laura worries that her sister may be in danger. When Al asks Katy to steal Mr. White’s gun, the stage is set for tragedy.
Three bank robbers, Eijima, Nojiri, and Takasugi, flee the police and escape into the mountains. At an inn high in the Japanese Alps, Eijima and Nojiri encounter a young woman and her father, as well as Honda, a mountaineer. The inn folk do not realize their guests are wanted criminals and the visitors are treated with great kindness. Honda volunteers to lead them over the mountains, but Eijima’s paranoia endangers all of them as they make the perilous trip.
