A Swiss sailor jumps ship in Lisbon, tired of the noisy engine room, the ship. He rents a room and does little. He writes letters to his lover, describing the whiteness of the city, the solitude and the silence. He sends his love and emptiness; she replies with love and confusion.
Haji is severely traumatized by the war with Iraq. Back from the front, he’s unable to adapt to civilian life. Despite family opposition, his fiancée stands by him as together they challenge both the authority of family and state to lead their own lives.

The kids are teenagers, clannish, clownish, sweet and vicious, struggling to make sense of their physical and mental growing pains. The film was shot over two years: the cast literally grew up along with the action.
This adventurous crime drama is set in exotic Latin America and chronicles a lawman’s attempt to bust up the ring of Yankee gun-smugglers who have been supplying arms to war-torn Central America. To stop them, the American agent must masquerade as a smuggler and join the gang. Meanwhile a young revolutionary is captivated by the brave words of her leader and pretends to be a singer while she looks for smugglers to sell her the weapons her group so badly needs.
A young New York woman, devastated to find out that her husband has been cheating on her, decides to hop a plane to Paris to get away. However, she falls asleep on the plane, misses her connection, and winds up in Israel, with no money, no luggage and no friends.
Five boys and a girl make up a gang and are fans of Beat bands, following them from concert to concert. Juli, fiancée of one of the boys, falls in love with a musician and travels to the countryside with him for a gig. The jealous fiancé and his friends go after them and the whole affair comes close to violence when suddenly the lover allows Juli to make her own choice. This noble gesture rekindles Juli’s true love for him.
Diana, a young Italian-American photographer, returns to the city in which she grew up in order to settle her mother’s estate. She had not gotten along well with her mother in recent years. While packing up the house, she meets a close friend of her mother’s and grandmother’s, who gives her her mother’s last gift. As she learns more about her mother’s history, Diana comes to terms with their relationship and her own Italian heritage.
