Thanks for posting this Jon. Despite a wonderful cast of character actors & the strong vocals of the two leads, this is a bit lackluster in its scripting and direction. Some of the songs are clever, but the pattern of taking old song standards & jazzng them up a bit becomes repetitious; and the film ends on a finale that becomes a salute to our armed forces (this was made in the middle of the war years) that feels deperate to reach for an audience-pleasing climax. Still, we watch these bc they are rare, not necessarily bc they are good Thanks again John.

Thank you so very much. It gave us a chance to see our Dad. He played the slide trombone in Alvino Rays band. The film may have been lackluster, but seeing Pop was a treasure. My deepest thanks.
