I read the novel a long time ago, but never saw the film. The most memorable scene in the novel was the doubles tennis game at the end, where Bill refused to return the ball and just wanted to talk to his wife (I don’t remember if she was his ex-wife in the novel). It is a pity that they changed the ending so this wasn’t a part of the film, but it was still worth seeing. So many lovely women in this film, including Tiffany Bolling in her first substantial part!
