Antoinette is an attractive young woman who is adjusting her stockings one day when a passing news photographer named Corrado snaps her picture. When it shows up on the front page of a magazine, she wants to take him to court over it. He then tries to convince her that he can connect her up with powerful men and introduces her to Count Gregorio Sennetti, who can make her a movie star, but things do not turn out well when the count’s wife shows up.
A sophisticated tramp lives during summer in a half-finished construction site. Because he doesn’t want to be cold in the winter, he decides to get imprisoned on time. Therefore, he demolishes a bar but he is only incarcerated for a single week. He promises he will find a way to come back.
Spring inspires lessons in love and life for a French family in 1920s Ottawa, especially for teenage Robert, who’s blind to the attentions of an American neighbor girl, because he’s infatuated with the beautiful new maid, fleeing life as a magician’s assistant. As Desmond’s temporarily off the road, he also targets the maid.

1865: Swiss captain Bluntschli fights as mercenary in the war between Bulgaria and Serbia. When his group’s attacked by a few Bulgarian troopers, he learns that he’s got the wrong ammunition for his cannon and has to flee. His flight leads him right into the bedroom of his enemy’s fiancée.
Tex Kinnane, posing as a stage driver, goes to Australia to investigate a series of robberies at Goldstar. He makes friends at the saloon with Baldy Muldoon and barmaid Stella Grey. Lawyer Vincent Moller, the leader behind the robberies, learns Tex’s real identity, and frames a plot to blame the crimes on Tex.
Emilia works in a fashion house. Her modest salary does not allow her to buy the clothes she would like to wear. One night there is a dance and, being very in love with her boyfriend, she decides to borrow an outfit to impress him. However, everything goes wrong and when the robbery is discovered she is dismissed. Shortly after this, she discovers she is going blind and, on top of that, her mother dies.
