Pompeyo and Rodolfo work at the “Heraldo de Madrid”, but they dream of becoming film actors. They go to a casting for an American film that is being shot for a few days in Madrid. After being rejected, as a way to become famous, they decide to fake the murder of one of them in the city’s Puerta del Sol Square. They steal a skeleton, burn it, and make everybody believe that it is the remains of Pompeyo. As part of the plan, Pompeyo goes to Barcelona. The plot thickens when Rodolfo is detained, accused of the murder.

Harvey and Gillian Fairchild face a very difficult weekend. Harvey, celebrating his 60th birthday, is stressed and depressed. Gillian is awaiting the results of a throat biopsy. Their lives are further complicated by their three grown children, a ditsy neighbor, a fortune teller, and an alcoholic priest.
A businessman and his partner are about to go bankrupt when the partner gets an idea to sail away and somehow find the money they need. Meanwhile, the one left behind has to figure out how to put off all the creditors, friends, family, investors, etc., until his partner comes back–IF his partner comes back.
