Aya is the Madame who runs a restaurant where geishas meet with their customers to eat, drink, listen to music and sing. Miyako, the daughter of Aya, is a liberal girl but far from the world that surrounds her and her mother. Her best friend is the daughter of one of the best customers in the house and a very rich man who in turn tries to Aya. But the mother and the daughter are in love with the same man.

A medical student tries to overcome all of the world’s barriers: money, age, status, cults and conventions. His dream is to marry a rich woman, to have a villa in the suburbs and a Jaguar in the garage. However, he meets a girl with completely different ideals. Barrier is a mix of documentary and fantasy that relates to the French New Wave experiences while making a disenchanted portrait of communist Poland.
A lonely widower begins to lust for his neighbor’s young and attractive wife. The affair that ensues brings his downfall; in the process, the whole community suffers.
This biopic is centered on New Year’s Day of 1894, when Kitamura is recovering from a suicide attempt. Japan is then under the spell of fervent patriotism because the government wants to build up public support for a war with China. Kitamura’s literary friends and militant comrades come to visit. They wonder why Kitamura wants to kill himself. Kitamura at first refuses to receive them, then he sits down with them and looks back on his days as a civil rights militant, his stormy love life and his ardent but destructive desire to live literature to the full.
Immigration officers raid the kitchen of a Montreal restaurant. Illegal immigrant dishwashers flee, including a certain Pablo Torres… Claire, a teacher, lives alone. Claire’s sister, Annie, a lawyer, has a problem: the visa of her client Pablo, a political refugee who was tortured in his Latin American homeland, is about to expire. Would Claire marry him so he can remain in Canada? Afterwards, she and Pablo will go their separate ways. Claire reluctantly agrees. They marry, but Immigration knows what’s going on. The two are forced to live together…
This portrayal of the reunion of an estranged father and daughter is set against the backdrop of a theatrical production. The father Pierre is the artistic director of a theater, and when his daughter Manon lets him know that she is coming to see him after a year’s absence, Pierre decides to prepare for the meeting. He goes to the theater with his girlfriend Ariane and has the actresses in his troupe act out different aspects of his daughter’s character. Unfortunately, this is not adequate preparation, for when Manon does show up, nothing goes quite as he imagined.
After unearthing an ancient bas-relief sculpture of the gradiva or ‘woman who walks’ a young archaeologist begins to dream of the figure eluding him, while also pursuing a mysterious woman who eludes him in his waking life. Based on the novella by Wilhelm Jensen.
Pierre, a middle-aged tourist guide, is the victim of a sudden failure: he does not recognize anything about him any longer. He goes back home and in his apartment he finds a mysterious young man who tells him he is here to avenge a young woman who has taken her own life. What share of responsibility does Pierre hold in this situation?
