Once upon a time in a forest, an elephant encounters a snail, when suddenly it begins to rain. The snail asks the elephant whether he wants to come inside his shell. The elephant accepts this kind invitation even though the snail’s house is a wee bit small.

A series of strange abstract images are projected in a movie theater. An old man from Russia in the audience watches this and can make neither head nor tail of them. He heckles the picture, wondering out loud, “Vhat da hell is dis?” while irritating the other patrons around him. He comments outrageously the entire time, saying, “It must be some symbolism! I think it’s symbolic of… junk.”
Animated drawings illustrate the life and explorations of Samuel de Champlain, founder of Québec City. The film follows Champlain from his first ambitions to map the New World and discover a passage to the sea, to his later dreams for New France.

Two neighbours live in the same house as the best friends until one of them buys a small harmonica and starts to play in a unbearable way. The other one takes his revenge and answers with some intolerable play on a larger accordeon. They start a competition, using bigger and bigger instruments. Other neighbours join them in a dreadful ear-splitting noise. This infernal sounds provoke some unwanted consequences, all because of a small »Piccolo« accordeon.
Péter Szoboszlay’s strongly socially critical film is permeated by the stylistic motifs of psychedelic pop-art and hippy Art Nouveau. The hero is a typical figure of the soft dictatorship, the tyrannical janitor, in the character of which one can almost see the spectre of fascist ideology. The pseudo-documentary (albeit with sociographic authenticity) interview with the janitor is be performed by actor–director Péter Halász.

An allegorical story about a prisoner and a guard, and about the difficulty to grasp the border between freedom and captivity. The film shows the relativity of the relationship between the executioner and the victim. They both need some contact, they need something to do, they need thoughts. The film won the Crystal Award, the Grand Prix of the 7th International Animated Film Festival in Annecy, the Honorary Diploma at the 20th International Film Festival in Locarno, and the Third Prize at the 7th Cracow Film Festival (1967).
