Bank robbery in small town ends with one of the robbers being wounded. The loot from the robbery is just an asset for the even more spectacular heist. Simon, gang leader and Paris night club owner, must also deal with police comissaire Edouard Colemane, who happens to be his good friend.

Here’s a rare English dubbed version of this Melville film with Alain Delon, sourced from Betamax! This version aired on TV in the U.S. and the U.K. (maybe in Canada too?) several decades ago so added nostalgia value since this is the way you would see it on TV back then. Many thanks to Commissario @CG for this share, I improved the audio a bit.

Edit: “Note that this isn’t simply a different dub – all the shots involving dialogue make use of alternate takes. This is also true of the English versions of LE SAMOURAI and THE RED CIRCLE. Many of the French actors  speak English for these alternate takes (phonetically or otherwise), watch Delon’s lip movements, he’s clearly speaking English, even though that isn’t his voice”. – Brad Stevens.
