Dreamlike satire about a young man who resists getting a job at the lone employing conglomerate in his dreary industrial town, but changes his mind when he discovers the plant’s boiler room has the perfect climate to assist him with his pet horticultural (fungal) project.
Centred around a former tennis champ who swings with the girls and volleying straight sets with the rich and famous while set on owning his own tennis court.

At age 42, Rafael Belvedere is having a crisis. He lives in the shadow of his father, he feels guilty about rarely visiting his aging mother, his ex-wife says he doesn’t spend enough time with their daughter and he has yet to make a commitment to his girlfriend. At his lowest point, a minor heart attack reunites him with Juan Carlos, a childhood friend, who helps Rafael to reconstruct his past and look at the present in new ways.
1968, London. Luca, the son of an Italian rich owner, is living his ‘swinging’ years away from duties and responsibilities while his father wants him to be introduced to the family business at any cost. Luca is first forced to return to Italy, then he is kidnapped by his father’s collaborators, jailed into a sanitarium, put through the electroshock and other torments. Then, when ‘normalized’ Luca marries a woman who in reality is a psychologist paid by his father to brainwash him and turn him into a perfect businessman.
Everybody loves Julia Lambert, she is so charming, she is so elegant, she is so irresistible… But Julia has problems. She is married to Michael, a stage producer, such an understanding man but also a little of a bore (although she will never admit it). She wants to be loved by all but she is vain and self-centered. She is aging (just slightly) and at forty she is beginning (unconsciously) to ask herself questions. And now she has fallen in love with Tom, a handsome young man, (only) a few years her junior. But Tom, more interested in climbing up the social ladder than in her personality, soon gets attracted to a cute upcoming actress, Averice Crichton…
