In April 1941, the Third Reich declared war on Yugoslavia. The war campaign lasted 12 days, days of collapse and chaos. “Tri” narrates three stories before, during, and at the end of the conflict with the same protagonist, named Milos Bojanic.

Mobster Ron Candell is set up by his underlings – principally Andy Damon – and is convicted of murder. He escapes but finds himself in a nuclear testing area. He survives the blast but his body begins to undergo change at the cellular level, making him a man of steel. He makes his way back to town seeking revenge on those who testified against him, including his ex-girlfriend Linda Marlow. As he continues to mutate however, he become ever more dangerous. Colorized by artist Charles Atlas and with a soundtrack created by John Cage, David Tudor, and Gordon Mumma, Assemblage is a psychedelic collage of movement, time, and space.
Deke, a 17 year-old itinerant orphan from a boy’s home, is arrested by the authorities after he stops Art Finney, a trainer for a wealthy California dog breeder, Andrew Garrett, from shooting “Rock”, a renegade English setter and alleged animal killer. Garrett has Deke remanded to his custody and gives him a job assisting an uncooperative Finney and also working with Rock, whom Deke asserts can become a fine hunting dog.
When young Tako’s father dies in Hungary in 1945, Tako is left with scant memories of him. Nurtured by his mother, the boy nonetheless fantasizes about the man his father was, imagining him to have been a hero. Grown into a man himself, Tako falls for a Jewish refugee, Anni. Burdened by her own heritage as a Jew, Anni sparks in Tako a desire to find out what his father was really like, and he delves into the role his father played in World War II.
