Hello!
Feel free to write in the comments below which movie/s you would like me to add on the site.
Remember I can’t just upload any movie, there’s a number of “rules” that I need you to follow in order to green light a film so that it can be uploaded, they are the following:
- No Region 1 DVD/Bluray of the said film is currently in-print and available to purchase online, good places to check availability of films on DVD and Blu are eBay, Amazon and TCMShop (mostly for American films).
- For British films make sure the film isn’t available on Region 2 DVD if it is available and still in-print on DVD/Blu in the UK I will not upload it.
- The movie was released before 2009 (2008 cutoff year).
- For non-English movies I will only upload those that are not available or out of print on Region 1 DVD, if it is available but on a non-Region 1 release make sure the label who released it it’s not listed among the blacklisted companies/distributors mentioned in Rule 6.
- Make sure the film you want isn’t already available on Youtube (or if it is there it has to be a low quality copy or no subs in case of a foreign film), it takes me a lot of time to look for and upload each film and to end up seeing that it’s already up on YT it ends up being a waste of time so PLEASE check before requesting it here. Also, check out the Wanted films list, if the movie you’re looking for is listed there it means I don’t have it.
- NEW Last rule and probably most important one: I will NOT be uploading (and don’t insist) films where any of the studios mentioned up next have been involved in either the production or distribution of the requested film: NBCUniversal and all its subsidiaries, WarnerMedia (including everything from the pre-May 1986 MGM library), TNT, HBO, Turner Entertainment Networks, RKO Radio Pictures, Monogram Pictures, Cannon Group, Milestone Films, Castle Rock Entertainment, New Line Home Entertainment, Orion Pictures, Lorimar, Gaumont, Multicom Entertainment, Big World Pictures, Pathé & StudioCanal. To check this information you can go for example to IMDb, search for “Company Credits”, click on it and it will show you the production and distribution companies involved in the film.

There are several films with the legendary Jean Gabin which still have never been subtitled into English… All of these titles are available on DVD (or VHS) in Europe, but do not have English subtitles:
“Gloria” (1933)
“Varietes” (1935)
“Le Messager” (1938)
“Pour l’amour du ciel” (1950)
“Tonnerre de Dieu” — there are DVD copies circulating, but only in very bad phonetic English (1965)
“Pour un soir..” (1931)

“La Sang a la Tete” (1952)– very bad phonetic English-subtitled version available online
“Coeurs joyeux” (1933) — I actually own a very good copy of this on a CD-ROM (but it doesn’t have any English subtitles)
“La Cas du docteur Laurent” (1956)
“Drapeau noir flotte sur la marmite” (1971)
“Paris-Beguin” (1931)
“Chacun sa Chance” (1930)
“Verdict” (1974) — Jean Gabin and Sophia Loren.

For subtitles I find the best site is:

If you can’t find subs in English (or your desired language) or you need to
resync, adjust or otherwise modify them, I use very good freeware:
http://www.nikse.dk/subtitleedit
It will do automatic translations using Google which can range from quite good
to somewhat comical, but mostly you get the idea. To English, I find transations
from Portuguese, Spanish and Italian to be quite good. From Romanian not bad,
from French not so good (I think French is much more idiomatic). From Germanic
and Scandanavian not bad. In any case, you may not get the subtleties of the
original, but you will understand what’s going on.
If you are really desparate, there is a Python script which uses speech to text
libraries to create a subtitle file directly from the film, then uses
translation libraries (using Google) to translate them. (this part doesn’t work unless you register for a Google API key, so I use subtitleedit to do the translation as they recommend in the instructions below)
I’ve tried it and the results are reasonable. It drops some of the dialogue but it does handle a good part of it and will give you an idea of what’s going on. Sometimes the results are pretty good and other times not so much. But it is quick (about 5m) and easy, so give it a try. If the results stink you are no worse off.

For some reason I’ve retained the memory of a very positive review of a film called, (I think,) “Barnardo of the Mountains”, released sometime mid 1990’s. All I remember is that it was a partisan war drama so I’m guessing could be from Yugoslavia, Greece, Italy, etc.. Haven’t been able to find mention anywhere. Also just to reiterrate a request for “Les noces de papier” (The Paper Wedding) 1989 made for television Canadian film directed by Michel Brault with Genevieve Bujold. Don’t know the title about this one, maybe you can help: I am looking for a movie about a couple on the run after having committed a crime. One scene takes place on a deserted beach. The guy gets shot (by mob hitmen?) standing by the sea, while his long-haired brunette girlfriend watches from afar, sitting in the dunes. The bullets make an eerie sound on the quiet beach. The guy falls down and the waves wash over his body. I think it is a French movie, maybe Spanish, definitely European. Probably 1990s. Thanks in advance.
The movie The Fall is based on (The Fall itself, while difficult to find, is not impossible) is a Bulgarian film called Yo Ho Ho from 1981. Can’t find it anywhere but would love to see it
Nice to see you back! My request, and this might be an odd choice, but the 1993 Super Mario Bros movie has to be it. It is literally not available on any streaming service. It’s not available to rent on YouTube, there is no Region A Blu-Ray (there is a Region B, but it’s unplayable in USA), and the film is not owned by any of your listed studios. It was produced by Hollywood Pictures & Lightmotive.

Hello I never made any requests here before but I’m looking for various Colombian films. I’m from there and can speak spanish so I don’t need any subtitles in fact it be better without any cause it can get distracting. I’ve been trying to track down a 1998 mockumentary called The Thin Pink Line for some time. It’s a gay parody of The Thin Blue Line, and it features an incredible cast of comedic talent, including some of Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer’s earliest film appearances. As far as I can tell based on my own attempts to find it, its only home media release was a DVD in Japan some time in the mid-noughties. Otherwise, I can find no trace of it. If you were able to track it down, I think it could be a wonderful addition to the story of nineties alternative comedy.

Hi, I wonder if you can find Junji Sakamoto’s Another Battle (2000) with subtitles? The Japanese title is Shin Jingi Naki Tatakai, but it shouldn’t be confused with the 1974 movie by that title. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0269859/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0 (it’s supposed to be tied to Fukasaku’s ’70s series, but not in any direct way).
