Hibakusha is the Japanese word for the survivors of the American bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This powerful and moving documentary focuses on a few of the eighty hibakusha who journeyed from Japan to New York in June, 1982, to take part in peace demonstrations held to coincide with the Second United Nations Special Session on Disarmament. They came to urge the nations of the world to prevent nuclear war. Instead of concentrating on the physical suffering of the victims, the film reveals the mental anguish of the hibakusha, who are still haunted by nightmares.

V. is about the multiple meanings of the letter – victory, versus, verses, etc. Starting from an incident in a Leeds’ graveyard where the poet’s parents’ headstone has been defaced with graffiti, V. rises to a view of the divisions, antagonisms and aspirations within British society, and the poets own self.
Mattie Appleyard has spent the last 40 years behind bars and is finally out. A model prisoner and a hard worker, Appleyard saved up over $25,000 while in prison and entrusted the money to prison guard “Doc” Council. Learning of her mother’s serious illness, Isabel returns to her family’s farm on the Gaspé Peninsula. Her mother dies before she can get there, and when her aged uncle Matthew Asks her to stay on and help him with the farm, she reluctantly agrees. She finds herself haunted by memories of early years (domestic violence, incest and the mysterious deaths of her grandfather, who died in a freak accident, and her father and brother, who both drowned at sea) in a house full of eerie sights and sounds.
Roger is cruel, violent and pathologically jealous and his wife Maria is suffering for it. He hires McClure, a P.I., to follow her and confirms his suspicions. Roger pays McClure to kill Maria’s mysterious lover, but he botches the job.
One train journey between two stations: the first one and the last one. In a second class compartment a traveler meets all kinds of people with all kinds of fates but fails to find a friend. As alone as at the beginning of the journey, he takes his suitcase, gets off the train, and disappears in the night.
Jancy Edwards works for Cambria Records and is managing the personal appearance tour of songster Billy Weber. While at a college, they hear a performance of a song that Billy wants. Janey meets with the composer, Grant Sanborn, who happens to also be the music instructor at the school. Jancy returns to the record company with a disc of Sanborn’s songs that he gave to her to play for her boss, Jason Ambrose. He is not interested in the kind of songs on the record, but likes Grant’s voice and wants to sign him to a contract. The story gets intersting when Grant only wants to sing folk songs and the record company wants him to sing popular songs.
