Memories of Berlin: Twilight of Weimar Culture (1976)

The film recalls the artistic and political ferment in Berlin at the end of the Weimar Republic by those who helped create it. This is a priceless documentary record of the years before Adolf Hitler’s ascension to power. It includes interviews with Christopher Isherwood, Louise Brooks, Lotte Eisner, Elisabeth Bergner, Francis Lederer, Carl Zuckmayer, Gregor Piatigorsky, Claudio Arrau, Rudolf Kolisch, Mischa Spoliansky, Herbert Bayer, Mrs.Walter Gropius, and Arthur Koestler.

Director: Gary Conklin.

Louise Brooks is such fun. Endless anecdotes, not caring how indiscreet she is, and those clips of her from Lulu. Worth the price of admission so to speak. Would love to see Beggars of Life one of her last Hollywood films
Thanks for this. Loved all its interviews of a generation lost and no longer our witnesses to the unique Weimar culture
