This is an excellent movie that blends film noir visuals with a western/historical setting. It’s also a fine example of what was called a “bottle show”–most of the action takes place in close quarters on a single set–after the bravura 10-minute opening sequence of a bank robbery, which is pure noir in its look and portrayal.
